"Hutt City and Upper Hutt City Councils have run household hazardous waste collections for a number of years now, providing a well received service to residents and safely removing materials that might otherwise affect operations at our landfills and sewage treatment plant. We have always involved Ray McGregor and have insisted upon his presence at our collections. His depth of knowledge of the materials handed in has enabled the safe handling and disposal of substances both clearly identified and those unidentified. He stays current with changing disposal options and has great familiarity with the multitude of products and their chemical constituents. I have no hesitation in recommending his services to anyone undertaking hazardous waste collections.”

Team Leader, Trade Wastes Section - Hutt City Council
“Ray McGregor and Son Ltd have played an essential role in the successful running of the Annual Hawke's Bay HazMobile.  Ray works extremely hard to ensure that his company lives up to the reputation he has created and offers an extremely professional service throughout.
Ray was instrumental in assisting Council Officers with the planning stages for the initial HazMobile collection and was more than happy to offer advice and answer technical questions whilst retaining a sense of humour.”

“Ray McGregor has been the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council’s authorised collector for its unwanted agrichemicals collection programme since November 1994. This collection has involved Ray in extensive liaison with horticulturists, pastoral farmers and local government staff and during this time he has built up a reputation for being friendly and very helpful to all he has worked with, while displaying the highest integrity and professionalism in carrying out the collections.
The work has involved the collection, transportation, sorting, identifying and repackaging of agrichemicals and other hazardous substances. Ray has collected some 86 tonnes of unwanted agrichemicals since the start of the collection and has also attended, and given advice on, a number of incidents involving hazardous substances outside of the unwanted agrichemical collection.
My staff member liaising with Ray has found him to be professional in his advice to Council and his willingness to assist. Together with his technical skills and “hands on” practical approach, Ray has been an important factor in the ongoing success of Council’s unwanted agrichemical collection.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Ray McGregor to others to carry out unwanted agrichemical or hazardous substances collections in the future.”

"The Gisborne District Council has used Ray McGregor’s expertise in agrichemical collections since 1996. Ray has carried out several collections of unwanted agrichemicals in the Gisborne region over this time and has always done so with professionalism and accuracy. His dealings with Council staff, the Ministry for the Environment and farmers and growers in the region have always been efficient, friendly and helpful. Many comments from farmers to council staff bear this out.
Ray’s extensive knowledge of agrichemicals has been of great benefit to those using his services. He conducts his operation in a safe and responsible manner at all times. I would recommend R & S McGregor Ltd to any organisation wishing to undertake hazardous wastes collections.”

Terry Carter
District Hazardous Substances Officer
Gisborne District Council “I doubt that we would be able to run our HazMobile collections without Ray and Scott. They have been with the Programme from the beginning and are an integral and deeply appreciated part of the service. And, for that matter, of all the other hazardous waste work the councils undertake in the Auckland Region. ”
